Two arrested after £300,000 cannabis factory raided

Two men have been arrested after a cannabis factory in Co Down was raided by police.

The potential street value of all drugs recovered in the operation in Hillsborough has been put at about £300,000 (€356,000).

A police spokesperson said the operation was uncovered at a property in the Sandringham Court area.

“At approximately 10.30pm, officers carrying out a proactive operation, searched a property in the Sandringham Court area where they discovered approximately 150 cannabis plants along with a large quantity of harvested cannabis and other items, which have since been removed for further examination,” they said.

“Two men, aged 22 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and cultivating cannabis, and are being interviewed by detectives.”

They said inquiries were continuing.
