A woman working in security asked a man not to obstruct a fire exit in Cork City but he responded by spitting at her, pushing her aside and threatening to kill her.

Judge Sinead Behan remarked on the very Christian attitude taken by the victim in the case who said in her impact statement that the accused man — who has complex psychiatric issues — should reflect on his words and actions and the impact that they had on her.
