Man charged in connection with killing of Noel Campion in Limerick
The man in custody is in his 40s and was arrested on Friday. He has since been charged in connection with the investigation.
A man is due in court in Limerick this afternoon charged in connection with the killing of Noel Campion in 2007.
Mr Campion was shot as he was travelling in Thomondgate on a motorbike.
He had stopped at a busy junction in morning traffic, when a gunman emerged from a phone kiosk and shot him. He died at the scene.
The killing was thought to be in retaliation for the murder of “Fat Frankie” Ryan, 21, who was shot dead in Moyross in 2006.
The man in custody is in his 40s and was arrested on Friday. He has since been charged in connection with the investigation.
He is due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court today.
