Revenue seizes €210,000 worth of cocaine at Dublin Airport
The drugs were found concealed within the luggage of a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Lisbon, Portugal.
Revenue officers at Dublin Airport intercepted a significant drug shipment yesterday, seizing approximately 2.8kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €210,000.
The discovery was made as part of Revenue’s risk profiling operations aimed at curbing the importation of illegal substances into Ireland.
The drugs were found concealed within the luggage of a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Lisbon, Portugal.
Following the search, a man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána.
He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in Dublin, where further inquiries are underway.
This seizure forms part of Revenue’s ongoing crackdown on drug smuggling through Irish entry points.
