A book of evidence was served on Wednesday on a 30-year-old Cork man accused of slashing a Polish man with a knife when the injured party was visiting Cork city centre for a dance competition.

Sergeant John Kelleher confirmed service of a book of evidence on Shane Dineen of no fixed address who appeared by video link from prison and was remanded in custody until the end of the month.
