€1.2m worth of drugs and designer goods seized in Revenue operations in Dublin

Revenue officials seized more than €1.2m worth of drugs and designer goods over the course of a number of operations in Dublin last week.
With the help of the detector dog trio of James, Alfie, and Grace, officers examining parcels at a premises in the capital discovered 55.6kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated street value of €1,113,600.
Also discovered were:
- 4.83kgs of butane honey oil
- 54.6g of cannabis resin
- 57.5g of cocaine
- 1.84kgs of cannabis edibles
- 712mls of cannabis oil
- 13.1g of Methamphetamine
- 80g of 'magic' mushrooms
- 71.9g of Mitragynine
- And 2,433 Benzodiazepine, Diazepam, Zopiclone, and Zolpidem tablets.
These illicit drugs have an estimated value of €112,000.

A Revenue spokesperson said the drugs were concealed in "numerous parcels originating from Spain, the USA, Thailand, the UK, India, and China". The parcels were destined for addresses nationwide.
A quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of over €10,000, was also seized by customs officers due to infringement of Intellectual Property Rights.
Among the luxury items seized were:
- A pair of Converse trainers;
- A Chanel handbag;
- 25 Burberry t-shirts;
- 25 Moncler t-shirts;
- One Yves Saint Laurent clutch bag;
- Five Burberry scarves;
- Eight Louis Vuitton belts;
- And 12 Louis Vuitton Vanity Cases.

"Investigations into all seizures are ongoing," the spokesperson said.
"These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity. If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on 1800 295 295."
