Cork man stole dog over welfare concerns, court told

Man had contacted the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals prior to the incident.

A 48-year-old Cork man admitted entering the balcony of an apartment and stealing a dog valued at €1,000 but when questioned later by gardaí he said he was motivated by concern for the welfare of the animal.

Michael Roe, of 14A Commons Road, Blackpool, appeared at Cork District Court on Monday.
