Munster could have Edwin Edogbo and new signing Will Harrison available for the first time this season after the pair returned to on-pitch training ahead of Saturday’s Champions Cup pool opener against Racing 92 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Clayton McMillan’s squad picked up no fresh injury concerns from Saturday night’s 26-26 URC draw at Ulster and lock Edogbo’s return from shoulder surgery alongside Australian fly-half/full-back Harrison’s recovery from a knee injury has given Munster a further boost after picking up three points from their trip to Belfast.

Locks Tom Ahern (neck spasm) and Fineen Wycherley (shoulder) have not been ruled out for the weekend and will be assessed as the week progresses while loosehehad prop Michael Milne (ankle), hooker Diarmuid Barron (neck) and back-three player Shane Daly (hamstring tightness) were reported by the province as “progressing well”.

Munster still have plenty of tickets available for Saturday’s return to the home of Cork GAA with sales currently tipping above 20,000 as the European competition returns to an October opening for the first time since 2018.
