The accused admitted assaulting two security guards on the night.

A young man who threw a glass bottle at a security man — splitting his head open — and spat at a second bouncer in a row outside a pub in Cork has been sentenced to eight months in prison.

Adrian Long, aged 25, of 14 Willowbank, Upper Fair Hill, Cork, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing harm to a security officer who had to have four stitches to a head wound. He also admitted assaulting another security man by spitting at him.
