A survivor of the Stardust fire has told how she was saved by her 16-year-old sister, who warned her “Lorraine. Get out, there’s a fire” before she lost her own life in the blaze.

Delivering a pen portrait of Teresa McDonnell at the inquest on Friday, Lorraine Sorohan (née McDonnell) said her sister’s last words to her were “engraved in her mind” and have “haunted” her throughout her life.
