An elderly woman who drove over a pedestrian who was walking behind her car has been given a one-year suspended sentence.

Mary Magowan, 88, was parked up in the overflow carpark of Stillorgan Shopping Centre in Dublin when she reversed into Suzanne Brennan who was walking behind her vehicle. Magowan knocked the woman to the ground but she continued to reverse at speed, driving over the victim as she lay on the ground.
