Man arrested following €2,800 drug seizure on Cork's southside

Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man following the seizure of €2,800 worth of suspected drugs in the city on Thursday.

A search was carried out at a house on Connolly Road in the Ballyphehane area shortly before 8.30pm as part of an ongoing operation.

Gardaí seized €2,200 worth of suspected cocaine and €600 worth of suspected cannabis herb.

The drugs have been sent for forensic analysis.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and brought to Togher garda station.
