Limerick Superintendent fails to get his suspension lifted

Garda Superintendent Edmund O'Neill

An application by a Limerick garda superintendent to have his suspension lifted which would allow him to return to work has been dismissed by the High Court.

Mr Justice Senan Allen ruled that Garda Supt Edmund Anthony O'Neill (aged 53), was not entitled to an injunction, which would remain in place pending the outcome of his challenge against his suspension on pay from duty.
