Two women have been arrested after gardaí found almost €450,000 worth of drugs during searches in Dublin.

Gardaí said that, as part of an intelligence-led operation, the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Coolock District Drugs Unit and the Revenue Customs Service discovered 5.7kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €79,800.

The cannabis was seized by Revenue Customs officers in Dublin on Friday.

A further quantity of suspected cocaine, subject to analysis, with an estimated value of €368,000, cash totalling €27,900 and drug paraphernalia were seized by gardaí in a follow-up search.

Two women arrested Two women, both aged in their 20s, were arrested and are being detained in garda stations in north Dublin under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In total, €447,800 worth of controlled drugs were seized as part of the operation.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
