Two children airlifted to hospital after serious Mayo road crash

A man and two children were airlifted to hospital following a two-car collision in Co Mayo on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident on the N59 at Clooneen, Westport, at approximately 7.20pm.
The driver of one of the cars, a man aged in his 30s, was airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Two children, a boy and a girl, who were passengers in the same vehicle, were also airlifted to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street in Dublin for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Mayo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were travelling in the area between 7pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
