Cyclist seriously injured in suspected hit-and-run collision in Dublin

A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a suspected hit-and-run collision in Dublin.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at approximately 7.45am on Shangan Road in Dublin 9.

The collision involved a car and a cyclist.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was taken from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital with serious injuries.

The car left the scene following the collision.

A Garda spokesperson said: "The road is currently closed and the scene is being technically examined by local Crime Scene Investigators. Local diversions are in place."

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from the area at the time are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
