Five injured following serious two-vehicle collision in Co Westmeath
Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident on the N62 to come forward.
Five people have been injured following a serious two-vehicle collision in Co Westmeath on Sunday.
The crash, involving a car and a van, occurred on the N62 at Ballinahown at around 1pm.
The driver of the van, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, for treatment of serious injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The driver of the car, a man in his late teens, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore. His injuries are also believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
Three passengers of the car, men in their 20s, also presented at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for their injuries.
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators, and local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
In a statement, gardaí said: "Road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
