An Post marks Rory McIlroy's Irish Open win with dedicated postmark

An Post makes a mark for Rory McIlroy
An Post has marked the success of golfer Rory McIlroy with a dedicated postmark following his win at the Irish Open on Sunday.
The 36-year-old already made his mark on 2025, securing a career Grand Slam at the Masters in April, but he continued his dominance by winning at the K Club in a thrilling fashion.
The world number two beat Sweden's Joakim Lagergren in a gripping play-off at the Co Kildare course.
To celebrate his sporting achievements, An Post will apply a special mark to millions of national and international letters and cards over the coming week.
The mark, which says "Congratulations Rory", will be applied to cards and letters sorted through mail centres in Athlone, Dublin, and Portlaoise.
According to An Post, dedicated postmarks are a "special honour to mark such a national celebration."
It says it "sets the scene" for McIlory's participation in Ryder Cup later this month.
The 45th Ryder Cup will be held in the US from September 26 to 28, at the Black Course of Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York.
The biennial tournament will be taking place at Adare Manor in Co Limerick in September 2027.
