Those attending Electric Picnic in Stradbally, Co Laois, this weekend may need to pack both sunscreen and a rain jacket amid an unsettled and mixed weather forecast for the coming days.
Conditions for the festival look set to be somewhat cooler and wetter than in recent days.
According to Met Éireann, Friday will be a "breezy day with brisk westerly winds", with sunny spells and "passing heavy showers". These showers will be more frequent across the northern half of the country, with local lightning also a possibility. There will be some scattered showers elsewhere also.
Friday afternoon temperatures will range from about 15C to 21C, with the best of the hotter weather in the southeast areas.
Friday night will be mainly dry, with clear spells and passing coastal showers. Later in the night, however, rain will arrive into the south and west.
Lowest temperatures on Friday night will drop down to about 10C to 13C in moderate southerly breezes.
The forecaster says there is "uncertainty" as regards the outlook for Saturday and Sunday, though there is the potential for some "significant rainfall and blustery winds, particularly during Saturday".
Daytime temperatures both days will generally range from the mid to high teens.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann said early thundery rain with local lightning on Wednesday will give way to sunny spells and scattered heavy showers.
Most of these showers will affect Atlantic counties, merging to longer spells of rain and further local lightning there. By Wednesday evening, some showers will have extended further east.

Highest temperatures today will range from 16C to 21C, with best values for Leinster, all in a mostly moderate to fresh southwest wind.
Wednesday night will bring further scattered heavy showers, again merging to longer spells of thundery rain across Atlantic counties, with spot flooding. Conditions will be drier and clearer further east, however. Temperatures will fall back to about 10C to 13C in mostly moderate southwest winds.
On Thursday, Met Éireann says low pressure will move in across the country, bringing "blustery southwesterly winds and frequent showers, merging to longer spells of rain with local lightning and spot flooding, especially across northwest counties".
Some sunnier and drier spells will be felt across the southeast counties, where it could stay dry. Temperatures on Thursday will be slightly cooler than in recent days, with values of between 15C and 20C.
