Man, 50s, dies following crash in Co Offaly

A man aged in his 50s has died following a crash in Co Offaly on Wednesday night.
The incident, involving a pedestrian and a car, occurred on the N62 at Killeenboy, Cloghan shortly after 11pm.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, where an autopsy will take place in due course.
There were no other injuries reported.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10pm to 11.30pm, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Birr Garda Station on 057 9169710, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station. Investigations are ongoing."
To date, there have been 67 fatalities on Irish roads this year.
