Motorcyclist, 50s, dies after serious collision on M50

A man in his 50s has died after a serious collision on the M50 in Dublin.
Shortly after 12.30pm on Sunday morning, gardaí and emergency services were called to a crash involving a car and a motorbike on the southbound carriageway near Junction 7 of Lucan/Palmerstown.
The motorcyclist, the man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported.
All southbound lanes were closed for a number of hours in the wake of the incident while garda forensics completed an examination of the scene.
It has now reopened.
The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M50 in both directions at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
