Sinn Féin senator rules out Michelle O’Neill bid for presidency

A bid by Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O’Neill for the Irish presidency in November has been effectively ruled out by a Sinn Féin senator.

Conor Murphy, who recently became a member of the Seanad in Dublin, said Sinn Féin vice president Ms O’Neill’s focus remained on being First Minister.
