The row between frontline police bodies and the Department of Justice over new disciplinary regulations has deepened after the Garda Representative Association (GRA) described the appeals system to be “completely unacceptable”.
On foot of an update from the department, GRA general secretary Ronan Slevin wrote to members to say that the new appeals body would have “catastrophic effects” and would “completely erode” trust in the system.
