Woman found with serious injuries on side of road as garda investigation launched

Gardaí have launched an investigation after a woman was found on the side of the road with serious injuries.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was found by gardaí on the Tom Bellew Avenue in Dundalk, Co Louth on Friday evening.
She had been travelling on an e-scooter - with gardaí believing that an incident had occurred at around 9.30pm.
The woman was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to be treated for injuries believed to be serious.
The scene currently remains preserved for examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Any road users or pedestrians who were in the area between 9.15pm and 9.45pm and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available.
"Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station on (042) 9388400, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
