Woman, 60s, drowns after getting into difficulty at Dublin beach

A woman, aged in her 60s, has drowned after getting into difficulty at a beach in Co Dublin.
The woman was found unresponsive in the water at Portmarnock Strand by the Coast Guard shortly after 3pm on Monday.
She was taken to Beaumont Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, the coroner has since been informed and an autopsy examination will be arranged.
