Mary Lou McDonald urged to address 'disturbing' revelations about former press officer

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has been called on to make a statement to the Dáil on a former party press officer who has pleaded guilty to child sex offences.

It has also emerged that two Sinn Féin officials provided a reference for their former colleague.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
