Dublin building evacuated after discovery of 'suspicious device'

On Tuesday evening, gardaĂ­ and the Army Bomb Squad were at premises on Bride Street in Dublin 8, where a device was found.

A number of people were evacuated from a building in Co Dublin after the discovery of a "suspicious device".

On Tuesday evening, gardaĂ­ and the Army Bomb Squad were at premises on Bride Street in Dublin 8, where a device was found.

A spokesperson for the gardaĂ­ confirmed that the services of the Army EOD were requested and that a cordon was established in the area.

An examination of the device found it to be non-viable and not an explosive device. It has been taken for further examination by An Garda Síochána.

"The cordon has been lifted. No arrests have been made at this time," said a Garda spokesperson.

A technical examination of the scene is being carried out and investigations are ongoing.
