Cyclist, 60s, dies following crash in Dublin

A male cyclist aged in his 60s has died following a crash in Dublin.
Gardaí are investigating the single-vehicle incident that occurred at approximately 2pm on Sunday on the Ticknock Road in Dublin.
The cyclist was taken to St Vincent's University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy will be conducted at a later date.
The road where the crash occurred was closed for a time pending a technical examination of the scene but it has now re-opened to traffic.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Any road users who may have camera footage from the Ticknock Road area between 1.45pm and 2pm have been asked to make this footage available to gardaí.

The incident brings to 115 the number of deaths on Irish roads to far in 2024 — 12 more than the total recorded at this point in 2023.
On Sunday morning, a man in his 20s was killed in a collision between a van and a lorry in Co Sligo.
The collision occurred shortly after 6am on Sunday on the N15 at Urlar in Drumcliffe.
The driver, the sole occupant of the van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry involved was taken to Sligo University Hospital for assessment. His injuries are not life-threatening.
It comes as a review of the Road Safety Authority has considered the option that road safety responsibilities could be removed from the authority entirely. The radical move that has not been ruled out by the Government.
