Pedestrian, 40s, dies following crash involving motorcycle in Dublin

Gardaí are investigating the incident which happened shortly before 7.15pm on the R319 at Belcamp in Coolock. 

A woman has died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Wednesday evening in Dublin. 

Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred shortly before 7.15pm on the R319 at Belcamp in Coolock. 

The female pedestrian, aged in her 40s was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries. 

She has since been pronounced dead and an autopsy will be arranged. 

A Garda spokesperson said the motorcyclist was uninjured. 

The road was closed for a time for a technical examination to be carried out. It has since been reopened. 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R139 at Belcamp, Coolock between 7pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 19th June 2024 are asked to make this footage available to gardaí," the spokesperson said. 

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Coolock Garda Station at 01 666 4200, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
