Man in his 20s dies in Kilkenny car crash

A man in his 20s died in a road traffic accident in Kilkenny in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision on the N10 in Foulkstown, Co Kilkenny around 3.25am on Saturday.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been transferred to the mortuary at Waterford University Hospital, where a post-mortem will be conducted. The local Coroner has been notified.
A technical examination was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning, and the road has fully reopened to traffic.
Investigating Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time are urged to provide it to Gardaí.

As of 9am yesterday, some 25 people had been killed in collisions on Irish roads in 2024. That compares to 28 for the same period last year.
