More than 300 gardaí mounted a significant security operation in Dublin as an anti-immigration protest and a counter-protest took place in the city.

There were 11 arrests after around 1,000 people attended the anti-immigration event which began at the Garden of Remembrance in the afternoon and travelled down O'Connell Street to the Customs House.
