Woman arrested as €380k worth of cannabis seized at Dublin and Shannon airports

A woman has been arrested following two drug seizures at Dublin and Shannon airports this week.

The two separate seizures were carried out on Tuesday by Revenue officers as a result of risk profiling.

In Dublin Airport, 16.6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €330,000 was seized.

The drugs were discovered in the baggage of a passenger who had travelled from Spain.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested by Gardaí in relation to this seizure. She has since appeared before the courts.

Separately, officers at Shannon Airport seized 2.5kg of herbal cannabis.

The illicit drugs were found in parcels that originated from the USA and were destined for an address in Tipperary.

The drugs have an estimated value of €50,000.

Investigations into both drug seizures are ongoing.
