Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that delegates at the Cop28 conference must take advantage of the "crucial opportunity" to take steps to address the climate crisis.

Mr Varadkar is in Dubai for the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties, which will see two weeks of negotiations on how to cut emissions and reduce the impact of climate change on people and the environment. The government says the 2023 Summit is "one of the most important in years", as it will see what progress has been made to meet the targets agreed upon in the 2015 Paris Agreement.
