Former soldier jailed for shooting at wife after drinking six bottles of whiskey

A former Irish soldier who shot at his wife while she was in bed praying has been jailed for four years.

Peter Walters had downed six bottles of whiskey before bursting into the bedroom of the family home in Raphoe, Co Donegal.
