Heavy rain to hit Munster and Connacht as Met Éireann warn of flood risk

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Munster and Connacht from Sunday evening through the entirety of Monday- with further flooding possible.
People all over Cork saw homes and properties flooded as Storm Babet swept through the island earlier this week.
While conditions have improved on Saturday, things are set to take a turn again on Sunday evening.
The warning - which kicks in at 6pm and runs until 4am on Tuesday - reads: "Rain, heavy at times with the chance of thunder. Possible impacts: Localised flooding and difficult travel conditions"
The government confirmed that funds were to be made available to the thousands affected by the impact of Storm Babet.
Businesses in Midleton have spoken out about the enormous impact the floods have had on their livelihoods.
"It’s not an exaggeration to say everything was destroyed, including the kitchen, which is the engine room of a business like ours. We are still assessing the extent of the damage done. The kitchen equipment alone is worth tens of thousands of euros," she said.
Separately, residents in Glanmire say they are being held "hostage" by the threat of further flooding.
"It's a living nightmare," she told the .
