On his first morning in the job, RTÉ’s new director general Kevin Bakhurst announced a series of changes in response to what he described as the “shameful” revelations that have emerged in recent weeks.

Mr Bakhurst sent an email to all staff on Monday outlining his plans for an overhaul of the broadcaster.
