Poor-quality water supplies are putting thousands of people at risk, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has warned.

In its newest report on water supplies, the EPA found that one in 20 private water supplies failed to meet the standard for e.coli. That compares to one in 200 for public water supplies, the newly-published Drinking Water Quality in Private Group Schemes and Small Private Supplies 2021 report revealed.
