Watch: Dublin Zoo has performed the first ever recorded cataract surgery on a common hippopotamus worldwide.

Imani, the 18-year old female common hippopotamus successfully underwent the first recorded cataract surgery on this species worldwide, performed by Dublin Zoo’s animal care team. Imani has since made a full recovery and can now respond to visual stimuli, navigate obstacles with ease and displays far more confidence in her movements.
