Almost 500 vehicles caught speeding in first 12 hours of National Slow Down Day

Gardaí have caught 486 vehicles speeding in the first 12 hours of National Slow Down Day, a new national road safety enforcement operation.

In an effort to stop drivers putting themselves and others at risk, An Garda Síochána's GoSafe team set up checkpoints around the country where they checked the speed of 108,231 vehicles in 12 hours.
