Concerns over accuracy of antigen tests for sale in petrol stations

The HSE’s chief clinical officer, Dr Colm Henry has expressed concern about the accuracy of antigen tests to be sold at petrol stations.

Members of the public should not assume a negative rapid self-test test means they are virus-free and can socialise without restriction, the HSE's chief clinical officer of the HSE has said.

Dr Colm Henry was speaking after petrol station chain Circle K announced it was due to start selling the 15-minute antigen tests, which it says are European Union-certified and have a 97.83% accuracy rate.
