Irish people living abroad have reacted to the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar's comments in the Dáil, where he advised people not to book flights home for Christmas yet, describing the advice as 'harsh'.

Jean Kelly, who is originally from Cork but has been living in South East London for years, says most Irish people living abroad had already made the decision not to come home, but the Tánaiste could have been "more compassionate" in his approach.
