Man spat at garda, refused to say if he had virus symptoms

Spitting at a female member of An Garda Síochána and then refusing to say if he had any Covid-19 symptoms resulted in a man being jailed for five months today.

Sergeant Gearóid Davis said that a plexiglass screen at Gurranabraher garda station protected the officer but that she was upset by the incident.
