Leaving Cert set to be cancelled and replaced with predictive grades

The Leaving Certificate examinations are set to be cancelled and replaced with a system of predictive grades, senior government sources have said.

The Cabinet on Friday is expected to discuss and approve a memorandum from Education Minister Joe McHugh which will see the exams for 60,000 pupils cancelled and replaced with grades based on their classwork.
