Gardaí have found a cannabis grow house at a disused premises in Co. Mayo.

Officers searched the disused premises at Ballinastanford in Claremorris this afternoon.

They found it had been converted into a cannabis grow house with insulation, lighting and heating fitted out to facilitate large-scale production.

More than 500 cannabis plants with an estimated value of €400,000 were seized (subject to analysis).

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
