Society must not lose sight of the fact that more than 689,000 people, of which over 200,000 are children, are living in poverty in Ireland.

Reacting to the latest CSO Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) for 2018, social justice think tank Social Justice Ireland said that despite the wage growth, increased employment and very high rates of economic growth shown in the report "a significant proportion of the population is still living in very difficult circumstances”
