One of Ireland’s leading art auctioneers has claimed that RTÉ has broken public procurement policy by awarding the sale of five art works to UK company Sotheby’s.

Update: RTÉ have released a statement saying the commission agreed with Sotheby’s to sell five art works "is considerably below the EU tender level".

It comes after a leading Irish art auctioneer claimed this morning that the State broadcaster has broken public procurement policy by awarding the sale of the art works to the UK firm.
