Douglas Shopping Centre is to remain closed until next summer as demolition work begins on the car park which caught on fire two weeks ago.

It has also been confirmed that 137 cars have been safely removed from the car park with 10 more due to come out over the course of the weekend.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
