A trucker told gardaí it was an accident after he was charged with dangerous driving causing death in connection with a fatal collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a pedestrian in Dublin.

The collision happened on the Swords Road (N1) at the Collins Avenue junction at around 12.30am on Friday as a truck was turning left.
