Independent Dublin City Councillor Mannix Flynn has expressed concern about the cost of Christmas lights in the city which he says could be more than €900,000 this year.

There has been duplication, he told Newstalk Breakfast, with Dublin City Council and the business improvement organisation Dublin Town both spending hundreds of thousands of euro on illuminating the city centre and its buildings.
