A 24-year-old Kerry footballer has been convicted of assaulting two gardaí and a security guard during a drunken incident in Castleisland on St Stephen’s night 2017 following a trip to a rugby match in Thomond Park, Limerick.

A 24-year-old Kerry footballer has been convicted of assaulting two gardaí and a security guard during a drunken incident in Castleisland on St Stephen’s night 2017 following a trip to a rugby match in Thomond Park, Limerick.

Kevin McCarthy, a general operative, of Gortnatona, Kilcummin and a senior county footballer, was also fined a total of €1,400 at Tralee District Court.
